Alison Perry held a fundraiser at work in June for IIH UK. Alison says 'I work in Eli Lilly’s pharmaceutical company headquarters, they enjoy raising money for charity. One idea called “Casual Friday” allows staff to wear casual trousers and donate £1.00 to the “charity of the month”. I asked to nominate “IIH UK” for a month.
All through June the staff popped their £1.00 in the pot. On the last day of June, I set up a stand in our restaurant with various posters and leaflets; a laptop to play Lana Mae Garretts battle with IIH and left Hayleigh to talk about the condition and what it means for sufferers. I truly think she “raised awareness” of IIH in a place of vast medical knowledge in a professional way.
The Lilly staff raised £320 in June 2012 to help IIH UK. Hayleigh also added her penny jar which raised another £50 towards the charity that supports her condition.
