I started with horrendous headaches – just all of a sudden – I was at A & E begging for pain relief. The left hand side of my face swelled up and my eyelid drooped. At the begining of July I had a CT scan and a venograph as the neurologist thought I had a clot – these came back clear (thank God – I had imagined all sorts of horrible things). I had a LP which was 35 (and was absolutley fine – I never felt a thing and was fine afetrwards too – obviously lucky that day). This all happened on my baby's first birthday and I missed it all!!!
Anyway I was put on Diamox and I thought I would be better in a few days!!!!!
It's now 7 weeks on and I feel better than I did but still getting daily headaches and my vision is now blurred in my right eye. I think everyone is fed up of asking me how I am and some people have even forgotten. I went back to work 3 weeks ago when the headaches weren't too bad – I thought work would be a distraction. I think this is why people think I'm OK cos I'm just getting on with things – but you have to dont you – especially with three children!!
I realise how lucky I am in that I was diagnosed quickly and am not too debilitated by it (fingers crossed), but I really expected the Diamox to work straight away and I would be 'cured'. How naïve!!
